Thank you for your interest in Brookfield School. We are very proud of our excellent academic programs, exceptional students, and outstanding faculty. Brookfield School has been a leader in private education in Northern Nevada for over forty-three years. All of our campuses, Preschool, Elementary, and Middle School, are nationally accredited by NIPSA and NWAC, a division of AdvancEd. We serve over 250 students. Brookfield School is a traditional school appealing to parents who are seeking a school with a proven curriculum – a school which encourages excellence.
Brookfield School’s mission is to develop the whole child, fostering their academic skills, communication skills, and interpersonal (social-emotional) skills. Brookfield students are excited lifelong learners, confident thinkers, and strong communicators. Our students develop solid thinking skills and achieve remarkable academic results.
Early childhood education starts at “The Little Campus” (TLC) where we introduce the young child to a more exciting, challenging, and fun-filled day. It is steps above the typical early childhood curriculum. As your child enters our program, he/she will build habits and share experiences that will help him/her succeed later in school. Our goal is to provide a strong sense of self-esteem, a curiosity about learning, and an enthusiasm for schooling. These proven traits build future educational success. Our TLC students have priority placement in the Pre-1st (K) grade on the Elementary campus (K-4th) and are academically prepared for the Pre-1st (K) curriculum.
Students in our elementary school and middle school are preparing academically and socially for our global society. Most noticeably, our math and reading achievement scores are in the top 16% in the nation. For 2016, Brookfield School has again placed in the top 93rd percentile nationally in mathematics and reading. Our second through eighth grades placed in the top 95th percentile nationally in language, and our third through eighth grades placed in the top 94th percentile nationally in science. It is with the individual attention and care that each teacher provides your child along with your personal investment in your child that we are able to show such amazing national scores.
Our successful approach uses traditional curriculum, safe and small class sizes, a nurturing environment, and certified classroom teachers. Brookfield offers a well-rounded curriculum in subject areas such as: mathematics, phonics, reading/ literature, writing (customized writing plans for each student), spelling, penmanship, social studies/history, health, and science. Daily emphasis is on the core subjects of reading, writing, mathematics, as well as social and emotional skills. Skill building in areas of academics, character, values, and social are all key for the healthy whole child.
We provide high quality enrichment classes for different grades such as: Violin, Spanish, French, Chinese, Middle School Engineering (STEM), library, art, hands-on science, physical education, computer, dance, drama, and music.
When you visit our school, you will see enthusiastic, happy students and highly qualified, dedicated teachers all working towards academic excellence. Ask about various ways we encourage and meet the needs of our Gifted and Talented students, as well as students who need remediation. You will understand why Brookfield School has earned a well-deserved reputation as Reno’s best private school.
We know that selecting the right school for your child can be difficult, and we are here to help you make an informed decision. We will show you first-hand the excellence of Brookfield School with a tour of our Early Childhood Campus (TLC 1yr.-5yr.), Elementary School (K-4th), and/or our Middle School (5th-8th).
