All of the Brookfield Families would like to thank the Schuler family for opening their home last week for a great social by PTA. Mr. Schuler is car organizer extraordinaire and Mrs. Schuler put out a beautiful spread. Everyone enjoyed the spectacular views and connected with new friends.

FRIDAY ASSEMBLIES: The best way to stay current on school events and meet other parents (and other teachers!) is to attend our weekly assemblies. Pre-1st – 8th grade assemblies are in the Elementary School Great Room every Friday at 8:30 am. TLC assemblies continue every Friday at 9:15 am in the TLC Great Room. Middle School students can be dropped off at Middle School prior to 8:15 am and then will be walked over to the assembly, or they can be brought directly to the Elementary Campus after 8:15 am.

It's never too early to start saving pictures for the yearbook! If you have any great school-related photos, please send them to Mrs. Dusek at for yearbook and Mrs. Goecker at for newsletter. Please note that any photo sent may be posted on the website, our social media pages, in the newsletter, and in the yearbook. We will not print names.

There will be classroom signs posted in the front of the school the morning of, please place your child's trike under their classroom sign. Be sure that your child's name is on his or her trike to avoid any confusion. Thank you***

TLC Pizza Fridays!

Pizza Fridays are in full swing!! It is not too late to sign your little one up this week for pizza if you have not done so. If you would like your little one to receive pizza on Fridays please do not forget to turn in your sheet to Mrs. Jacobson with check-only payment. BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT: Pre-first to Eighth Grade Parents, join us for Back to School Night on Thursday, September 21st. Come and meet your student's teacher and learn about all the exciting things going on in the classroom this year! This is a parent-only event.

Please go to your child's classroom. To help you get to multiple classrooms this evening, elementary grades will have two sessions for parents to attend.* Middle School Back To School Night will be from 6:00 – 6:30 pm. Please plan to attend the first session for your Middle School student.

Session 1: 6:00 pm – 6:30 pm
Session 2: 6:30 pm – 7:00 pm

*All of Mrs. DeRosa's 3rd Grade Parents, please attend Session 2 from 6:30 – 7:00 pm. She will not be available for Session 1.

Brookfield School

JOG-A-THON: Our 8th annual Elementary and Middle School PTA Jog-a-thon will be on Friday, September 22nd. If you haven't done so already, please turn in your student's waiver to his/her teacher. All students must have a signed waiver in order to participate in the Jog-a-thon. Please note – the front parking lot off of McCarran will be CLOSED when you arrive for school on Friday, September 22nd. Please use the back parking lot.

We would love to see parents either join or cheer on their children. Please see the schedule below to help you plan your cheerleading time!

CONGRATULATIONS to the Cross Country Team! Great job to our team for their first meet last week! We want to send a special congrats to Alexander D. for placing in the top 35! The team will travel to Truckee next week for the next meet. Go Bears!

BASKETBALL: If your 4th-8th grade child is interested in playing basketball this season and you have any questions, there will be a mandatory basketball meeting on Tuesday, October 3rd in the Middle School Great Room. Any and all information will be given out on this date; it is very important that you attend. There will be a nominal fee for players.

PIZZA THURSDAYS: Pizza Thursdays will be offered every Thursday when school is in attendance. You may purchase one or two slices of pizza with a side. Please return the order form by 3:30 pm on the Wednesday before the Pizza Day, as we place the order that evening. Payments can be done via FACTS or by check.

ELEMENTARY AND MIDDLE SCHOOL AFTER CARE: After-care is available from school dismissal until 6:00pm. After-care is at an additional cost and is charged per family, not per student. If you plan to use after-care on a regular basis, you can save money by contacting the school and have the monthly after care bundle added to your bill. If your student is picked up prior to the end of their Homework Club, there is no charge for after-care. All students remaining after their Homework Club ends will be charged after-care starting from the dismissal of school.

MILK: You can still purchase daily milk for your child through the school. You may sign up for a date range or for the entire year (Monday-Thursday or Monday-Friday). Milk is $0.50 a day.

ATHLETICS: Middle School Cross Country practice is on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:45-5:00.

POPCORN FRIDAYS: PTA will be holding Popcorn Fridays every Friday at 1:15 pm in the back yard. Punch cards are available for sale, or students can bring cash.

BOX TOPS: We are happy to announce that PTA will be collecting Box Tops again this year! Box Tops are little vouchers located on many everyday household items that bring money to your school! Look for the bright pink Box Tops on brands such as Kleenex, Ziploc, General Mills, Annie's, and Pilsbury. Please clip out all non-expired Box Tops and place in a Ziploc bag with your child's teacher's name on it. You can turn them in to the office or to your teacher. We will be holding the collection beginning now and will collect through the end of 2017. The classroom with the most Box Tops collected will win fabulous prizes! Start clipping…and if you have the time, we would love to receive them in Ziploc bags of 50. Thank you to Mrs. Toland for volunteering to be the Box Tops Coordinator!

The reserved parking spots at the Elementary Campus and TLC are now available to the public, despite any signs you may see on them. They will be auctioned off again at the Fall Festival on Thursday, October 26th (save the date!). So fall in love with those premium spaces now, and be sure to bid in October!

SPANISH IMMERSION PROGRAM: The Spanish Immersion Program is offered Monday – Thursday beginning now. Pre-1st and 1st grade students will meet from 3:45-4:15 pm and 2nd-4th grade students will meet from 4:15-5:00 pm. Both sessions will be led by Mrs. Keppelmann in Room 5 at the front of the school. We are excited to be continuing our choir at Brookfield School. Choir will be held on Mondays beginning September 11th from 3:45-4:45 pm. Please visit the Main Office to get more information and to sign up.

BROOKFIELD DANCE CLUB: Does your child love to dance? Ms. Baran will be teaching an after-school dance program. All grades are welcome. YOUNG CHEFS COOKING CLUB: Ms. Baran and Mrs. Dunham are cooking up something good this year on Fridays beginning September 8th! Join them as they help teach students the culinary arts and table manners! Cooking Club will meet on Fridays from 1:15-3:15 pm. Sign up in the office today!

FRENCH CLUB: French Club will be held once a week on Fridays from 2:15-3:00 pm in Room 5. You can sign up and receive more information in the Main Office.

ART CLUB: Ms. Reid will be having Art Club on Mondays from 3:30 – 4:30 and on Fridays from 1:30 – 2:30. Please see Ms. Reid or stop in the Elementary Office for more information or to sign up.

BRICK4KIDZ LEGO CLUB: Lego Engineering for students Pre-1st through 6th grade is available this year through the very popular Bricks4Kidz.
