Brookfield School will be participating in the Mount Rose Youth Lessons this year on Friday afternoons for interested students ages 4 - 13. Mount Rose is accepting registrations now, and space is limited. Even though the lessons do not start until January 2017, we strongly encourage you to sign up soon, as Mount Rose expects heavy participation. All of our students from Pre-School through Middle School were treated to a special In-Tune Tales performance of How the Grinch Stole Christmas this Tuesday! Ask your child what they enjoyed most! Life Cubby!
There are been a few questions about sign in and sign out times that are showing up on Life Cubby. If a teacher is with another student or parent, their sign in and sign out time may differ slightly from the time that you actually drop off or pick up. This variation in time will NOT result in your account being billed, so please do not worry.

Elementary CAMPUS/MIDDLE SCHOOL NEWS

The third grade students spent a few hours on Tuesday visiting WETLAB (Western Environmental Testing Laboratory) in Sparks. They got to see water separated into its elements, and then watch as various elements of the periodic table were set afire (to see the different colors that they burn). It was an amazing science lesson and we thank Mrs. Sherven for inviting the classes to come see her lab! Thank you to our parent drivers!

Brookfield School
The 3rd grade classes are holding a food drive to help local families during this holiday season. Beginning today and going through Thursday, December 15th, we are asking for each student to bring in at least two non-perishable food items. There will be milk crates in each classroom and a surprise reward for each student who brings in two items.

Thursday Lego League will now meet in the Art Room (Room 2/3) every week.

Calling all parents and staff – please join us as we challenge the Brookfield Basketball Team to a match on Saturday, December 10th at the Plumas Gym at 8:00 am! If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Aitchison at caitchison@brookfieldschool.com. Plumas Gym is located at 475 Monroe Street in Reno.

PTA NEWS

The PTA is proud to announce their Christmas Bear Gift Tree. Please stop by the elementary school front office and pick a bear from the tree. Each bear lists a gift request from a local area youth in need of a little extra holiday giving. Each bear has a slip for you to fill out and leave in a collection box and a reminder slip with what to purchase. Please bring your gift (and bear reminder slip) back to the office by your morning drop-off on Friday, December 9th.

Thank you to the Segrest, Schuler, and Jaferian families for their generous support. Please note that the three parallel parking spots in the front lot of the elementary campus and the first spot at TLC are now reserved during school hours (7:30 am – 6:00 pm) and school special events. The new signs are now up for the designated spots.
