We want to send a special THANK YOU to PTA and the parent volunteers who made the Fall Festival such a fun time! They braved the wind and rain to host the amazing event! Thank you Mr. Sherven, Ms. Apollon, Mrs. Morrow, Mrs. Sekhon, Mr. and Mrs. Brady, Dr. Hovenic, Mrs. Kingston and all the others who came to help out, and to everyone who bid on the auction items.

Great job to all of our Chautauqua performers! Brookfield parents, including TLC parents, are welcome to join us at the All-School Chautauqua Assembly on Friday, November 4th at 8:30 am. A representative from each class will present his/her Chautauqua speech. This assembly will last approximately one hour.

If you have any great pictures of school events that you take throughout the school year, we would love to have them for our yearbook (it's never too early for us to start working on it)! If you took any shots during the first day of school, Friday assemblies, Jog or Trike-A-Thon, please send them to tdorey@brookfieldschool.com for Elementary and Middle Schools and mjacobson@brookfieldschool.com for TLC. You can also drop off a labelled USB storage device (we will return it to you). We will definitely be looking for Fall Festival pics from all of our families. Thanks in advance for sharing!

As you plan your holiday travel schedule, please note that our holiday calendar differs from Washoe County. We are in session Monday through Wednesday of Thanksgiving Week (November 21st-23rd), with full days Monday and Tuesday, and a 12:00 pm dismissal on Wednesday, November 23rd. Schools are closed Thursday and Friday of that week. Our Winter Break is Monday, December 19th to Friday, December 30th, returning to school on Monday, January 2nd. Winter Vacation Camps will be available for each break. We are closed February 20-24, 2017 and April 17-21, 2017, both weeks will offer vacation camps.

The Brookfield Middle School is hosting the Schuler, Damonte, and Monroe 2016 Barb Smith & Jan Monroe Memorial Shoebox Party on Sunday, November 20th from 1:00 – 5:00 pm. Volunteers are welcome to come help pack Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes to send to disadvantaged children worldwide. Middle School students will be wrapping boxes November 14th through the 18th to raise funds for their spring science camp trip to SIMI. Come and spend a festive afternoon eating, shopping, visiting, and packing! All you need are: a little love, bags of candy to share, and items to fill your box (approximately $25 total). The Monroe Schuler Foundation will pay the $7 S&H for every box built, plus provide the wrapping paper and tape, as well as additional items for your box such as toothbrushes. Please RSVP to Carol at 775-722-8323 or adm@renoseven.com. For more information about the actual boxes, visit: https://www.samaritanspurse.org/operation-christmas-child/pack-a-shoe-box/.

Life Cubby!
We just wanted to let you know that we are all becoming quite comfortable with Life Cubby and you should all be seeing updates from your child's classrooms. There are been a few questions about sign in and sign out times that are showing up on Life Cubby. If a teacher is with another student or parent, their sign in and sign out time may differ slightly from the time that you actually drop off or pick up. This variation in time will NOT result in your account being billed, so please do not worry. We should have most of the kinks were out with this new system in the next week or so. If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to see Mrs. Jacobson.
