Representatives from the Treasurer's and Attorney General's office, Donna Wix from the Department of Education, and Karen Gray from the Nevada Policy Research Institute will be present to provide updates, information and answer parents' questions about the ESA program.

Important Information for All Parents: Since convenience and the quality of our school are of the utmost importance, we are always seeking ways to make improvements to benefit everyone. Are you ready for an online portal to review tuition and other charges? After much research and investigation, we have partnered with FACTS Management Company to help us manage our tuition payment program and financial aid assessment. FACTS is used by many schools locally and over 6,500 schools nationally. We are excited to be working with them and are confident this program will offer greater efficiency while providing convenience to families.

Brookfield School is improving the business side of our school. By taking advantage of the security and convenience of payment processing offered by FACTS, all families will gain have access to easier to payment methods and billing.

    You will realize these benefits by using FACTS for your tuition payment plan:
  1. Payment Date: The 10th of each month is the monthly payment date. Automatic payments can be made from a checking or savings account or from a variety of credit cards, if applicable.
  2. Enrolling in FACTS: You need to enroll in FACTS by going online or completing a FACTS paper agreement form (if applicable). . All families must enroll in June.
  3. Convenience & Security: Along with multiple payment plan options, your payments are processed securely through a bank to bank transaction.
  4. Consumer Account: You may check your personal account or make payments online (if applicable) from the convenience of your home or office anytime.
One of the universal challenges in education is achieving a balance between our educational mission and customer service. It is precisely for this reason we are enlisting the help of the FACTS Management Company. With FACTS, the school maintains decision-making control. As always, we will continue to work with families should special circumstances or "hardship" cases arise during the school year.

The Hot Lunch menu for the month of June went home via email yesterday and hardcopy today. We apologize for the short turnaround expected for this form. Please remit the completed form with payment (cash or check payable to Roundabout Catering) by 9:00 am on Friday, May 27th. Each Main Campus / Middle School meal costs $4.50, with milk at $0.50. Each TLC meal costs $3.50, with milk at $0.50. Because of the proximity to the end of the year, BOTH weeks of ordering are due this Friday, May 27th. No lunch orders will be accepted after 9:00 am on Friday. Please note that we will only have catered lunch service for the weeks of May 31st and June 6th (schools are closed Monday, May 30th for Memorial Day). There will be no hot lunch service for the last week of school, June 13th – June 17th. Please pack a lunch from home this week. If you have any questions, please call us at 775-825-0257. The All-Schools Year-End Awards Dinner and Dance will be held this year at the New Siena Hotel (the Renaissance) on Wednesday, June 15, 2016. Please respond by June 3rd.

We are very excited to announce that we will begin offering a very limited number of Community Scholarships to new families to build our Middle School population. These Community Scholarships will go to new students in the 5th – 8th grades who possess great character and academic leadership. We welcome our existing families to refer friends to be the first to apply for these scholarships. You will receive a referral fee if any of your friends enroll at Brookfield School. Thank you to Dr. Jesse Adams for his amazing nanotechnology presentation, Sheriff Chuck Allen and Deputy Bonilla of the Washoe County Sheriff's Office, Deputy District Attorney David Watts-Vial, Officers Hague and Carney of the Reno Police Department / SWAT Team / Bomb Squad, Nephrologist Dr. Najjar, ENT Dr. Van Duyne, Pathologist Dr. Samanthanam, Nurse Bohlander, CEO Mr. Parker, Appeals Officer Ms. Nielsen, UNR Director of Residential Life Mr. Toland, Entrepreneur Mr. Davis, Real Estate Agent Ms. Hertz, and to the Reno Fire Department who managed to answer a call and return to our school without missing a beat!

We also want to thank West Coast Audio Visual for supplying the audio system for Dr. Adams, and then agreeing to loan it to Sheriff Chuck Allen for his speech to the students (wise decision, guys!).

Congratulations to all of our Spelling Bee participants! We held the annual Brookfield Spelling Bee on May 11th and want to acknowledge our classroom winners. And you thought it was too early to see a summer blockbuster! The first grade superstars have saved the best for last as they present Small Little World on Friday, June 3rd at 12:00 pm. Mrs. Friedlander proudly presents the students from Mrs. Menesini's and Ms. Andersen's classes as they take to the Great Room stage for a musical tour de force! Please note that this play will be at 12:00 pm, and not immediately following the morning assembly.

Calling all future chess masters! Brookfield School is hosting the 2016 Chess Kidz Individual and School Championship on June 4th and June 5th. This is a USCF-rated event in five sections from First grade through adult. Registration is done online at or email for more information.

The last day of school at Main Campus and Middle School is Friday, June 17th for one hour with all grades reporting to their classrooms at 9:00 am. All students should be picked up by 10:00 am. Limited childcare for Main Campus / Middle School students may be available at TLC with a minimum enrollment. Please contact the front office if you need care after 10:00 am.

We are very proud to announce that Brookfield School has received the rights to the award-winning musical production of The Lion King. This will be the full school production, including the music, props, and scenery (which means there will also be plenty of art time with Ms. Reid!). We welcome all future superstars and artistic geniuses to the auditions. Campers will create and roar their way through the summer in this 4-week program. There will be two sessions offered over summer, weeks 1-4 and weeks 5-8. Each group will be putting on a full production during the last week of the 4-week program; students will need to be signed up for all four weeks of the session to participate.

Parents who are attending are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.

Permitted students in 2nd – 8th grade will be walking to and from the park with their teachers. TLC, Pre-1st, and 1st grade students must be accompanied by a parent to attend the party.
