To our parents who are active-duty military or those with children under the age of 7, the deadline for this quarter's ESA enrollment period is quickly approaching – Thursday, March 31st. ESA (Education Savings Account) is an account established to provide state funds to pay for approved education expenses for qualified students. There is still time to purchase tickets for Brookfield Family Night with the Reno Bighorns. Join fellow Brookfield families on Saturday, March 26th for basketball and family fun! Doors open at 6:00 pm, and the Bighorns take to the court at 7:00 pm against the Idaho Stampede at the Reno Events Center located at 400 North Center St. in downtown Reno. We would like to invite all of our parents to our upcoming spring events. Every Tuesday during the month of April starting at 8:00 am, join Administration for coffee during our Tuesday Talks in our office at Main Campus. This is a time to meet, catch up, and fill us in on your year so far and what you are looking for in next year. Then, on Thursday, April 14th, we are hosting a Parent Mixer at our Middle School location from 5:00-6:30 pm. Join your friends and make some new ones over a drink and appetizers. The event will be catered by Roundabout Catering, who will begin serving as our Hot Lunch vendor on April 18th. Come for a taste of their great food!

Beginning Monday, April 18th, we will be using a new Hot Lunch vendor, Roundabout Catering. We are very excited about the new food and invite parents to our Parent Mixer on April 14th to sample their food! Join us at the Middle School campus.

We are looking for a parent to assist with morning violin classes at Main Campus on Mondays and Wednesdays. No violin knowledge or musical experience necessary! If you are interested, please contact the front office at 775-825-0257, ext. 2.

Yearbook Information: If you have any pictures from the year's school events, such as Fall Festival, Chautauqua, and class plays, we would love to have them! You can: Dedicate a Memory Page to your child or advertise your business in this year's yearbook. The page costs are as follow: ¼ page is $50, ½ page is $80. If you are interested or if you have any questions, contact Jenna Dixon at Dedication pages must be ordered by March 18th. Space is limited and will be sold on a first come first serve basis. You can pre-order the 2015-2016 yearbook now! The hardcover yearbook is $30. Please call or visit your campus office to place your order.

Congratulations to Mrs. Gookin's class as they were honored by the Young Poets Collection. Thirteen students' poems were selected for inclusion in the Young Poets Collection for 2015-2016. The Young Poets Collection is designed to provide an opportunity for children to share their creative work with others and further the enjoyment that writing can bring into their own lives. Poems were selected for their creativeness, use of language, and appearance. Great job to Krishna K., Ryan S., Adie B., Cricket P., Jaxson S., Nadia F., Keanu T., Zoey B., Stella D., Ethan C., Sarah R., James B., and Carly K.

Adie B. is not just an incredible poet, but a beautiful writer. Adie was our school winner in the Zaner-Bloser National Handwriting Contest for School Grade students. She will advance to the next round of competition to the city and state levels!

TLC Announcements
We are thrilled to welcome Ms. Allison Prater from the Marigold Movement Center to TLC! She is leading an after school dance program for our little ones on Mondays and Thursdays. Space is limited, so if you are interested in your child attending these dance classes, please enroll in the Great Room at TLC!

SPRING BREAK! Don't for get to enroll your child in Spring Break Vacation Camp if you need care the week of March 28th. For questions please see the front office.

Please don't forget that we are a Nut Free campus. Please do not pack any products containing nuts in your child's lunches. Thank you!

Here at TLC we learn about and encourage Grow Food on a daily basis! Our students love to learn about making healthy choices for their bodies and talk about great grow foods in their class. Please help us continue the learning at home and encourage your little ones to pick out fresh and healthy fruits and vegetables for their lunches! Check out some of our great Grow Food charts in classrooms as well! Thank you for your support with this!


All Pre-1st through 2nd Grade students will join our 3rd and 4th grade violinists at the Friday assembly on March 25th for a violin performance! Parents are encouraged to come and watch these budding musicians take to the stage! Assembly begins at 8:30 am in the Main Campus Great Room.

We will be having optional, free-dress and sibling Spring Portraits and Eighth Grade Cap & Gown Portraits on Thursday, April 7th in the morning hours. Forms went home this week and are due by 1:00 pm this Friday, March 25th. You can also sign up online at . We will not have a make-up day for the Spring Portraits or for the Eighth Grade class portrait, so please try to schedule appointments around this date if possible. Eighth grade students will receive dress instruction from their teacher.

We are very proud to announce that Brookfield School has received the rights to the award-winning musical production of The Lion King. This will be the full school production, including the music, props, and scenery (which means there will also be plenty of art time with Ms. Reid!). We welcome all future superstars and artistic geniuses to the auditions. More information will come, but this is a full summer course from Week 1 to Week 8 of Summer Camp, with a Middle School production for 4th – 8th grades, and a lower elementary production for Pre-1st – 3rd grade.


The next PTA meeting will take place on Thursday, April 7th at 2:30 pm at the Main Campus. We hope you can join us.

The Scholastic Book Fair is coming to the Main Campus from April 15th – April 22nd. Helping with the Scholastic Book Fair is an easy and fun way to volunteer. If you have a free hour or two this week and would like to help students shop for new books, the following link will give you information on the available time slots:

We will be celebrating EARTH DAY on April 22nd at Main Campus and on April 29th at TLC.

We are looking for volunteers to run the Barista table at Main Campus on Friday mornings from April 22nd through June 10th. The sign-up slots are on a weekly basis. Please use the following sign up link if you are able to help keep the table running past April 15th.

The Teacher Appreciation event will take place during the second week of May. Details will follow. Please contact the PTA if you would like to help with the event.

PTA BOARD 2016/2017
We are looking for individuals who would like to volunteer for the PTA Board for the 2016/2017 school year. Contact the PTA if you are interested in serving on the committee next year.

We want to remind our PTA members that requests for enrichment funding for particular enrichment activities, whether by grade, class or school/campus wide, are not limited to coming from teachers. The Enrichment Committee, which reviews these requests, will consider enrichment activity requests that also come from parents, along with teachers. If you have an idea or would like to possibly coordinate a learning activity around your area of expertise, please inquire with Mindy Cannady, our Enrichment Chair.
